I burned a CD the other day.
It was really crazy; when I put the disc into the drive, it was basically a worthless nothing. A few clicks later, it's a whole new CD with my favorite worship playlist downloaded on it. This reminded me of the Catholic sacraments Eucharist and Reconciliation. First, Reconciliation. We are lowly dust (literally) and we reject Jesus every day by sinning. When we are waiting in line for Confession, we are full of sin. Upon exiting the confessional, we are spotless and brand new, just like a new CD. In Eucharist, what starts as basic unleavened bread and wine is transfigured before us into the actual body and blood of Christ. It's like as if the priest puts the unleavened bread into a disc drive and out comes Jesus!
What do you see in the everyday world that reminds you of Jesus? Leave a comment!
Your brother in Christ,
-Jacob
